The Fearsome Jabberwock
Tackling nonsense verse is always difficult, because one has to figure out what the poet means without the benefit of recognisable words. Incidentally, a guy called Robert Scott has actually translated Jabberwock into German! Here's the translation:
Es brillig war. Die schlichten Toven
Wirrten und wimmelten in Waben;
Und aller-mümsige Burggoven
Die mohmen Räth' ausgraben.
The Fearsome Jabberwock

As an English teacher I use Jabberwocky as a grammar lesson. This time for extra credit. It's nice to have such a wonderful recording for my students to listen to before they take on the project. Well done
